Woman in Islam and Hadis

There is so much to say about women in Islam that books could be written and the claims of the clergy regarding the dignity of women in Islam could be refuted and invalidated by the verses of the Quran and the Sunnah of Muhammad.

Note:

(Al-Baqarah 228)

Translation: And men have a degree of superiority over women, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Wise.
Article 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:

1- Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. Husbands and wives have equal rights in all matters relating to marriage, both during and at its dissolution.

2- Marriage must be entered into with the free and full consent of both men and women.
Much has been written about women in Islam, so here we will briefly review a small sample of verses, hadiths, and rulings regarding women.

A) The inherent superiority of men and the inherent inferiority of women in the Quran

(Al-Baqarah 228)

Translation: And men have superiority over women, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Wise.

(An-Nisa 34)

Translation: Men are superior over women and Allah is knowledgable

(An-Nisa 34)

Translation: Men have great (our words are an exaggeration) dominion over women because God has made some of them excel others, and because men spend from their wealth.

(Al-Najm)

Translation: Do you have a male and He has a female? (12)

In that case, this is an unfair division (that you have taken the superior ones and given the inferior ones to Allah) (22)

B) Women were created for men

(Rom 12)

Translation: And among Her signs is that She created for you mates from among yourselves that you may find repose in them.

Translation: O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from a single soul (Adam) and from him created his mate (Eve). In short, Eve was created from Adam.

C) Women for Adam's comfort

(Al-Baqarah 223)

Translation: Your women are your crops, so enter your crops whenever you wish.

This verse is the most humiliating verse against women. The reason for the revelation of this verse is that a man from the Ansar asked to have sexual intercourse with his wife in a certain way. His wife was upset. The man asked the Prophet and this verse was revealed.
Note that women are the fields of men, just as a farmer owns a field, so too is a woman the property of her husband. Women are suitable for bearing children and their will has no validity in sexual relations, as it is stated in a hadith from the Prophet that "a woman should never disobey her husband's desires, even if he is riding a camel." This view of Islam is so clear and unambiguous that some of the greatest Islamic scholars have said that women are animals that God created in human form for men's pleasure and sexual desire.

Throughout the Quran, it is spoken as if women are two-handed humans. Most of the time, the emphasis is on men. In the discussion of Paradise, it seems that women are not mentioned, while a virgin is provided for men's lust, and no such thing is mentioned for women, and...

D) Women's intellect and religion are incomplete

In a hadith, the Prophet indicates that women are incomplete in intellect and incomplete in religion. A woman asks why the Prophet replied:
He said: قال أما نقصان العقل فشهادة امرأتین تعدل شهادة رجل فهذا نقصان العقل وتمکث اللیالی ما تصلی وتفطر فی رمضان فهذا نقصان الدین.
Translation: The Prophet said: As for the deficiency of reason, the testimony of two women is equal to that of one man. And the deficiency of religion is the deficiency of religion because (due to menstruation) you do not pray for a while and do not fast in Ramadan.(1)

A similar hadith is narrated from Imam Ali in Nahjul-Balagha, Sermon No. 80.
Ali ibn Abi Talib: O people, know that women are deficient in faith, deficient in fortune, and deficient in intellect.(2)

E) Most of the people of Hell are women

Translation: The Prophet said: I see that most of the people of Hell are women. Similar hadiths have been narrated repeatedly. (3)

F) The most harmful temptation for men is women

Translation: The Prophet said, "I will not leave behind for men after my death a temptation more harmful than women." (4)

G) The evil of women

The Prophet said: Evil is in three things: the dwelling, the horse, and the woman. (5)

H) Avoid women

Translation: The Prophet said, "Warn, avoid the world and women." (6)

I) Women are a complete evil

Translation: Ali: Indeed, the effort of women is for the adornment of this world and corruption in it.

J) Women are a source of corruption

Translation: Ali: Indeed, the effort of women is for the adornment of this world and corruption in it.

K) Women are slaves in the hands of men and they must obey their husbands. (9)

Translation: The Prophet praised God during the Farewell Pilgrimage and then said, "Be good to women, for they are in your hands." (8)

Translation: ... So righteous women are obedient (obedient to their husbands: according to the meaning of the verse) and they guard [their husbands'] secrets for the sake of what Allah has guarded [for them]...

There are numerous hadiths in this regard in Sunni and Shia sources, three examples of which are mentioned:

النبی خطب النبی النساء ذات یوم فوعظهن وامرهن بتقوی االله والطاعة لأزواجهن

Translation: One day the Prophet addressed women and commanded them to fear Allah and obey their husbands.(9)

Translation: The prayer of two people will not be accepted: a slave who has run away until he returns, and a woman who has disobeyed her husband's command until he returns (to make amends). (10)

There is a detailed hadith in Surah Al-Kafi, Vol. 6, in which Imam Muhammad Baqir narrates from the Prophet that a woman came to the Prophet and said, "O Prophet, what is the right of the husband over his wife?"

The Prophet said: A woman should obey her husband and not disobey him, and not give charity from her house without her husband's permission, and not observe a recommended fast without her husband's permission, and not prevent her husband from enjoying himself sexually, even if he is riding a camel. A woman should not leave the house except with her husband's permission, and if a woman leaves the house without her husband's permission, the angels of heaven and earth, wrath and mercy, curse her until she returns home.

Then the woman asked: O Prophet, who has the greatest right over a man? The Prophet said: His father. Then he asked: O Prophet, who has the greatest right over a woman? The Prophet said: Her husband.
Then the woman asked: Isn't the right of a woman over a man equal to the right of a man over a woman?
The Prophet said: No, no, out of every hundred to one (i.e., for every hundred rights that a man has over a woman, a woman has one right over a man).
Then the woman said: By the One who sent you as a Prophet, I will never make my neck the property of a man (I will not make my husband).

If a man fears disobedience from a woman, he can beat her.

Translation: And as for those women from whom you fear disobedience, admonish them, and keep away from them in the bed, and beat them (if that does not work), then if they obey you, then find no way against them. Indeed, Allah is High, Great. (34)

In the commentary of Majma' al-Yabiyan (43/2 - Part 3), it is stated about the occasion of the revelation of this verse:
A woman from the Ansar disobeyed her husband. The husband slapped her in the face. The wife and her father came to the Prophet to complain. The Prophet ordered retaliation (that the wife should slap the husband in return). The next day, when they came for retaliation, the Prophet recited the above verse and said that the ruling on retaliation for beating one's wife had been lifted.
Readers who are familiar with human rights and educational psychology know that it is not right to beat any human being, even children and even animals, and it is forbidden today and is considered a very inhuman and barbaric act.

Regarding verse 34 of Surah An-Nisa, many interpretations and stories have been made by Islamists and clerics to justify this inhuman and primitive order, each of which has tried in a way to marginalize the main point of the matter, which is the beating of a woman by a man. For example, they have created conditions for this or interpreted beating as beating with arrows. Some have also mentioned beating with a toothpick, by sewing the sky with a string and linking this verse to other irrelevant verses. Of course, all of these have failed to make this cowardly ruling appear humane and rational.

Beating a person may not be painful, but it humiliates and breaks the person's character and pride, even if it is beaten with a toothpick or a pen.
So this sophistry of the weavers does not lead anywhere to justify these verses and inhumane orders.
Well, considering the authentic verses and hadiths that we have cited, do you still believe that Islam has given dignity to women?

In fact, Islam has buried women alive through the laws and rulings that it has implemented regarding women and has considered them to be slaves or goods that belong to men.
